For patients travelling from the UK and Europe
In the EU and UK, cell-based treatments are regulated as advanced therapy medicinal products. Approval is product by product, which means most mesenchymal stem cell and exosome protocols are only available inside clinical trials or hospital exemption schemes. Patients from London, Frankfurt, Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm and Copenhagen regularly ask what treatment in Bangkok involves in practice.
European and UK patients travel to Bangkok because most mesenchymal stem cell protocols are classified as advanced therapy medicinal products at home and are restricted to trials or approved indications. Flights are 11 to 12 hours direct, treatment takes five to seven days, and follow-up is scheduled in your local time.
Every protocol is prescribed and supervised by licensed Thai physicians and the cells are processed in our own GMP-aligned, ISO 9001 laboratory in Bangkok. We do not publish prices online because dosing and protocol length depend on your assessment.
Travel
Bangkok is 6 hours ahead of the UK and 5 hours ahead of most of continental Europe in summer, so morning calls in Europe land in the Bangkok evening.
Most EU and UK passport holders do not need a visa in advance for short tourist stays in Thailand. Check the current rules for your own passport before booking.
November to February avoids both the European winter and the Bangkok hot season, and is the busiest period for European patients.
The EU classifies most cell therapies as advanced therapy medicinal products, and the UK follows a comparable route through the MHRA. Approval applies to a specific product for a specific indication, not to a category of treatment, so a protocol used routinely elsewhere may have no approved route at home.
Some countries operate hospital exemption or named-patient schemes, but access is uneven and often restricted to serious conditions. Patients with degenerative joint disease, autoimmune conditions or longevity goals rarely qualify.
Thailand's framework is different rather than absent: treatment must be prescribed and administered by licensed physicians in a licensed facility under Ministry of Public Health oversight.
Because of the flight length, we build in a rest day before assessment. A typical stay is eight to ten days: arrival and rest, assessment and labs, treatment sessions, review, then departure.
Sessions are day-care procedures. Patients stay in a hotel near the facility on Sukhumvit, and our team is reachable 24/7 while you are in Thailand.
Many European patients combine treatment with a recovery period at the coast afterwards, which is straightforward once your review appointment is complete.
Send imaging and laboratory results in advance. Reports in German, French, Dutch, Swedish or Italian are usually workable, but an English summary of the key findings speeds up the review.
Consultations at the facility are conducted in English. Follow-up calls at one, three and six months are scheduled in CET, CEST or GMT rather than Bangkok time, and you receive a written summary for your doctor at home.
European patients are most often treated with MSC therapy, exosome therapy, NAD+ IV therapy, NK cell therapy and PRP, for conditions including joint pain and osteoarthritis, autoimmune conditions, diabetes and metabolic health and longevity and anti-aging. The international patient guide covers the full treatment timeline and laboratory standards.
